Naming Rules
Skill names must:
- •Use only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens
- •Start and end with a letter or number
- •Be 1-64 characters long
- •Match the directory name exactly
Valid: web-research, code-review, api-client-v2
Invalid: Web_Research, -invalid, skill.name
Writing Effective Instructions
- •Be Specific: Provide clear, actionable steps
- •Use Examples: Show input/output examples
- •Structure Consistently: Use headings and lists
- •Include Templates: Provide reusable templates
- •Explain Why: Help users understand the reasoning
- •Handle Edge Cases: Document exceptions and limitations
Best Practices
