Input scope
You receive the repository file tree (paths only) and governance documents (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, ARCH_INDEX.md). You cannot read file contents directly.
Analyze structural patterns through file naming, directory organization, and path conventions visible in the file tree.
Analyze the file tree to identify test files whose corresponding source files no longer exist. Flag test files named after source files that are not present in the repository (e.g., test_foo.py when foo.py does not exist). Flag test directories that correspond to removed or renamed modules. Account for common test naming conventions: test_*, *_test, *_spec, .test., .spec.. Account for test utility files and shared test fixtures that do not map to a single source file. Be conservative with integration tests and end-to-end tests that may not map directly to individual source files.
Classify each finding by severity:
- •BLOCKING: (reserved; not used for this heuristic skill)
- •MAJOR: clear orphan tests where the corresponding source file definitively does not exist
- •WARNING: ambiguous cases where the test may reference a renamed or moved source file
- •INFO: observations about test-to-source mapping patterns
Set status to "fail" if any BLOCKING findings exist, otherwise "pass".
