- •Mangrove Snapper — nearshore reefs, docks, bridges. 10" min, 5 per person
Seasonal
- •Tarpon (Apr–Jul) — Boca Grande Pass (world famous), Charlotte Harbor, Naples area passes. Catch-and-release in state waters
- •Kingfish (Oct–Mar) — offshore reefs, wrecks, nearshore in cool months
- •Cobia (Mar–May) — following rays on flats, nearshore reefs, passes
- •Goliath Grouper (year-round) — around structure, bridges, reefs. Catch-and-release only
- •Permit (year-round, peak spring) — flats, wrecks. Extremely challenging
- •Triple Tail (summer) — crab trap floats, channel markers

- •Grouper — red grouper season varies annually, check current regulations
- •Snapper — vermillion, lane, mutton snapper on reefs and wrecks

- •Mackerel — Spanish and king mackerel, seasonal migrations

- •Boca Grande Pass — world-famous tarpon fishing. Peak May-July
