Roviq Newsletter: Beehiiv Content Strategy

This skill governs the creation and management of Roviq newsletter content for Beehiiv.

1. Newsletter Structure

The Roviq newsletter has a structured format:

Header

  • Logo: Roviq branding.
  • Title: Issue Number and Date.

Introduction

  • Hook: A short, provocative statement about the industry or topic.
  • Summary: What's in this issue.

Section 1: Market Intel (The "News")

  • Focus: High-level trends, competitor moves, or regulatory shifts.
  • Source: Recent research or industry reports.
  • Takeaway: Why this matters to operators (clients).

Section 2: Operator Tips (The "Play")

  • Focus: Actionable advice for cannabis delivery/retail operators.
  • Example: "How to optimize your menu for higher conversion" or "Compliance check: age verification at the door".
  • Format: Bullet points, checklists, or step-by-step guides.

Section 3: Roviq Updates (The "Inside")

  • Focus: What we're building, new features, or team wins.
  • Tone: Humblebrag. "We just shipped X because Y needed it."

Footer

  • CTA: "Reply if you want help with [topic]" or link to sales page.
  • Socials: Twitter/LinkedIn links.
  • Unsubscribe: Mandatory link.

2. Beehiiv Formatting Guidelines

  • Headings: H2 for main sections, H3 for sub-points. Avoid H1 inside the body.
  • Paragraphs: Short (2-3 sentences max). Wall of text = delete.
  • Links: Descriptive anchor text (e.g., "Read the full report here" -> "Read the full report"). No raw URLs.
  • Images:
    • Max width: 600px.
    • Alt text mandatory.
    • Captions centered below image.
  • Buttons:
    • Primary CTA button color: #000000 (Black).
    • Text color: #FFFFFF (White).
    • Rounded corners: 4px.

3. Tone Guide

Direct, Data-Driven, No Fluff. Matches SOUL.md.

  • Be specific: "Revenue increased by 15%" > "Revenue went up significantly".
  • No jargon: Explain acronyms (e.g., CAC, LTV) if not standard.
  • Opinionated: Take a stance. "This is bad because..." > "Some say this is bad".
  • Zero "Salesy" Language: No "Unlock your potential", "Revolutionize your business", or "Game-changer". Just the facts.
  • Respect the Reader: Assume they are busy operators. Get to the point.

4. Content Sections

Market Intel

  • Use skills/research/SKILL.md to find relevant news.
  • Filter for impact: Does this change how they operate tomorrow?

Operator Tips

  • Source from memory/glass-learnings.md or client work.
  • Make it immediately useful.

Roviq Updates

  • Keep it brief. 1-2 sentences.

5. Workflow

  1. Ideation: Propose topics based on recent client work or industry news.
  2. Drafting: Write the content using this template.
  3. Review:
