Spotify Web API (Cross-Platform)

Control Spotify via Web API. Works from any platform — no Mac required.

Setup

1. Create Spotify App:

  1. •Go to https://developer.spotify.com/dashboard
  2. •Create a new app
  3. •Add redirect URI: http://localhost:8888/callback
  4. •Copy Client ID and Client Secret

2. Set Environment Variables:

export SPOTIFY_CLIENT_ID="your_client_id"
export SPOTIFY_CLIENT_SECRET="your_client_secret"

3. Authenticate:

bash
python3 {baseDir}/scripts/spotify.py auth

Opens browser for OAuth. Token cached in ~/.spotify_cache.json.
